End of Year Reflection

My favorite assignment was the assignment to manipulate a photo. I found it very fun. I used fotoflexer.com to manipulate the photo of my choice. Fotoflexer gives you a variety of tools to do mutltiple things to the photo of your choice. I chose one of my favorite bands, WARSHIP, to fotoflex on. I used the tools provided to to multiple things to the band, including making Francis Mark (the most amazing man in the world) incredibly buff looking. It relates to creativity in several ways. You have to use your imagination and the tools given you sculpt your picture into something new.

I learned how to manipulate a photo. To change it into something completely different. I was proud of having to use my imagination to manipulate the photo. And now, I can do it any time I want! I can select a photo, go to fotoflexer, and completely change it.

Validation

I thought the video we watched today was pretty funny. It's somewhat true, too. A lot of people are taken for granted and are never really recognized for what they do, and it would make those people smile if they were complimented like that guy in that video. The last part of it though, I find unbelievable. I mean, it's nice sweet and all that junk, but it's still unbelievable. All in all, I thought it was pretty good.

Funny, Chinese, Thirsty, Ninja, Epic

Pepsi is the product being sold and you realize it towards the end of the advertisement.

The audience is pretty much everybody.

It shows Chinese Monks enjoy Pepsi, and it could imply it keeps them spiritual and strong.

No, the assumptions are not realistic. The advertisement as a whole is really a joke.

3 Other things you can use Wordle for:
1. You could use Wordle for a poem.

Fotoflexer!

Original Photo of the band WARSHIP ---->

Fotoflexer was a good and fun site for me to play or goof around on. I liked being able to do all the effects and all the varieties of options it had... But my favorite part was using the "distort" tools. I found it funny to be able to bulge, stretch, pinch, twist, and even squish parts of the picture down.

Fotoflexed version of WARSHIP. Francis Mark INCREDIBLY buffed up by the "Bulge" tool. Members faces were stretched, pinched, and bulged when necessary to be funny.

Video Game Laws

The article on California's Video Game Laws sounds like a both good and stupid idea to me. It sounds like they're trying to make sure all children can't buy video games. I understand the games like "Grand Theft Auto" and other sort of REALLY violent games like that... But all video games have some form of violence. Whether it's shooting a bubble at a cupcake monster to get to the next level, there is always some minor sort of form of violence in every video game. It sounds stupid for the most part, but when the games are extremely violent and graphic, then it makes sense that children cannot buy these games.

World Tour Reflection

For my World Tour project I chose to visit three different countries, Italy, Germany, and England!
This project relates to using Creativity, Decision Making, and some Digital Citizenship. Creativity - By choosing three countries to visit with only $5,000 to spend in each country, making sure you get a souvenir, have a tour or some cultural event, relates to using our creativity in finding out what we're going to do, what we're going to get, and how we're going to do it, all in a 2 week time-range. You get to decide what you're going to do with that $5,000 all by yourself.
Decision Making - Decision Making is used throughout the entire project. You only have $5,000 to spend making sure you get to do what you want to do, getting a souvenir, and staying the night at hotels! You also have to decide on flight patterns, whether you want to take a one-way, multiple destinations, roundtrips, all of that! Deciding if you want to stay at a cheap hotel or motel, or an expensive fancy one! Its alot of decisions to make.
Digital Citizenship - We're using the internet to help us with our project. Going to websites, using them properly, we're using Digital Citizenship.

I learned how expensive it is to travel to other countries, and with the limit of $5,000 for activities and other parts needed in the project, it makes it more difficult. Making sure you spend the money wisely and as best as you can.
The part that I'm most proud of of my project, is that I actually managed to spend majority of the money.I'm very happy with my work, I got to look at three countries I'd visit with $5,000. I'm also very happy where I ended in my project.
Here is a link to a little "commercial" part of my project that I did.

College in Colorado

http://www.collegeincolorado.org/
There are many different things to do on this site. First of all, you can take several standardized "surveys" or "quizzes" to learn about yourself. Answer questions about yourself which vary from what you like to do or want to do in the future and others that ask you what you are good at, what you can do, etc. Once you've completed one of these "quizzes" you can see the results which show you what careers may interest or be good for you. To begin with these "surveys" is the Interest Profiler, which simply asks you a series of questions of what you would like to do or do like to do. Next is the Career Cluster Survey which asks you a series of questions of what things you are interested in and then "clusters" several careers that may interest you. Then the surveys continue on with Basic Skills, what your strengths are in these skills. Transferable skills, shows you how the skills you have learned can lead to new opportunities. The Work Values sorter (pretty self-explanatory), sorts out what work skills you're good at. Lastly the Career Key to find out what career areas may interest you. All in all, it's a good site to find out what career you may be interested in in the future or show you what careers you could be good at in the future.
